| Abstract | Electromagnetic coupling effects have not previously been considered important in the interpretation of Schlumberger resistivity measurements, Calculations presented here suggest that these effects can be of major significance in areas with low resistivities typical of geothermal systems. Data from the Langano-Aluto geothermal prospect (Ethiopia) are successfully explained in the light of the results presented here. Although not as definitive as the Ethiopian data, data from a of other geothermal prospects seem to show similar effects. |
