| Abstract | The geothermal energy is presented as an increasingly viable alternative for the production of energy. Currently, in Portugal, the municipalities are engaged in finding alternatives to the classical methods of obtaining energy, by environmental and economic issues and the Municipality of Meda is not an exception. Therefore, it is interesting to study in detail the geothermal potential at the entire county level, which is rich in granitic massifs with springs of sulphurous thermal waters. Thus, this work presents the main elements of geological rock masses of the county, the inventory of several wells where the groundwater temperature is recorded and pays particular attention to water points associated with deep geohydraulic models. From the results of detailed physicochemical analyzes it is also possible to advance with the reservoir temperature. |
