| Abstract | This study presents the tracer data analysis obtained from the single phase, conservative tracer experiments conducted during a two-year reinjection project at Laugaland geothermal field in N. Iceland. Conducting simple numerical experiments, the validity of applying the first temporal moment analysis to an unbalanced, open boundary system was evaluated and was shown that the first moment does yield the injectate swept pore volume. The produced tracer concentration history was used to estimate the reservoir relative flow capacity vs. storage capacity (F-C plot). The F-C plot is a simple and powerful tool to evaluate the conceptual modelĂs flow and storage geometries. The second temporal moment was used at obtaining a qualitative estimate of the inter-well heterogeneities. Attempts were made to develop a conceptual model and to determine the flow geometry for the Laugaland geothermal field. |
