Abstract INFORMATION ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY CENTRE The Russia-EU Technology Centre (TC) is the first concrete result of EU-Russia Energy Dialogue, which was started in 2000 with the purpose of long-term energy partnership development between EU and Russia. Within the framework of Energy Dialogue between EU ñ Russia, one of the priority initiatives is cooperation in energy technologies sphere. Cooperation in this sphere and exchange of technologies between the European Union and Russia open many favorable opportunities. The introduction of advanced technologies will allow to considerably increase the efficiency of mining, transportation and export of energy resources, and to increase reliability of power supply and reduce the damage caused to the environment to the minimum. The TC assists the progress of new technologies and the attraction of the investments for the priority projects financing in the energy sector of Russian economy. The TC participates in the work on harmonization of technical norms and standards and also on unification of maintenance service ways in energy sphere. THE CENTRE ACTIVITY The EU-Russia Technology Centre concentrates its activity on development of energy technologies in the following spheres: ? Crud oil and gas ? Electricity and coal ? Renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency The activity of the Centre includes joint implementation of researches in specific areas of energy development, organization of workshops, technologies transfer, realization of measures aimed to attract investments, publication of data representing mutual interest. One of the directions the Centreís activity is projects development facilitation. The projects development facilitation service will render support to the most promising projects on use of new energy technologies with the purpose of interest attraction from financial organizations and potential private investors. The work of the Centre is realized by the support of the European consortium which consits of six companies: EIR Development Partners Ltd. (Greece), Deutsche Montan Technology Gmbh (Germany), VGB Powertechn E.V. (Germany), European Renewable Energy Council (Belgium), Solar Energy Center ìIntersolarcenterî (Russia) and Ecole Nationale Superior du Petrole et des Moteurs (France). Technological support in the project realization is also provided by EUROGAS (The European Union of Natural Gas Industry), EUROGIF (European Oil and Gas Innovation Forum), IFP (The French Oil Institute), LogIT, G*Fint, Hellenic Petroleum and Saint-Petersburg Energy Center. Activity of TC in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency is coordinated by EREC (European Council on Renewable Energy, Belgium) and "Intersolarcenter" (Russia). Within the framework of TC activity the priority and most perspective Russian projects on the use of renewable sources of energy will be selected with the purpose of execution of feasibility studies and investments attraction for their realization. The Russian projects in the field of geothermal energy use are of a big interest.
