| Abstract | Los valores de Oc-l obtenidos en el amllisis de ondas coda con el metodo desarrollado por Akj2 a las frecuencias de 4, 8, 16 y 32 Hz muestran una dependencia de la forma fn (n entre 0.5 y 0.7) similar a la encontrada en Asia Central 12 utilizando ondas S. Estudios de atenuacion en otras areas utili zan do ondas Shan sugerido diferentes relaciones de 0 con frecuencia asociados a diferentes mecanismos de atenuacion, funcionando en el area en particular, estudios posteriores de atenuacion de ondas S en Cerro Prieto permitiran dilucidar si ondas coda son generadas por ondas S Rautian Khalturin l2 y su correlacion con . otras areas permitira inferir sobre el mecanismo de atenuacion en el area de Cerro Prieto. The values of Oc-1 obtained from the analysis of coda waves at frequencies of 4, 8, 16, and 32 Hz using the method developed by Aki2 show an fn dependence (n between 0.5 and 0.7), similar to results found in Central Asia by Rautian 12 using S Waves. Attenuation studies using S waves in other areas suggest different relationships between 0 and frequency, associated with the different attenuation mechanisms operating in those areas. Future studies of S wave attenuation at Cerro Prieto will allow us to discern whether coda waves are generated by S waves, (Rautian and Khalturin12 ). The correlation ofthese studies with those of other areas will allow us to draw some inferences about the attenuation mechanism operating in the Cerro Prieto area. |
