Abstract Using a finite-difference program (Dey, 1976) for two-dimensional modeling of apparent resistivity pseudosections obtained by different measuring arrays, four apparent resistivity pseudosections obtained at Cerro Prieto with a Schlumberger array by CFE personnel were modeled (Razo, 1978). Using geologic (Puente and de la Pena, 1978) and lithologic (Dfaz, et al., 1981) data from the geothermal region, mOdels were obtained which show clearly that, for the actual resistivity present in the zone, the information contained in the measured psueudosections is primarily due to the near-surface structure and does not show either the presence of the goethermal reservoir or the granitic basement which underlies it.
