| Abstract | During three years of magnetoteluric surveying, we have acquired data at 26 sites distributed over 190 km2 around the production area (Figure 1). The MT studies were undertaken to provide subsurface resistivity data to supplement the dipole-dipole and Schlumberger dc resistivity surveys conducted by LBL and CFE, respectively. In particular, we were hopeful and that the MT technique would give us better information on basement depth and configuration than the other methods. As we shall see below, our results far exceeded this modest aspiration. Durante tres anos de levantamiento magnetotelurico (MT), hemos registrado datos en 26 estaciones distribuidas sobre 190 km2 alrededor de la zona de produccion (Figura 1). Los estudios MT se efectuaron para obtener datos de resistividad del subsuelo con el objeto de suplementar los leva tamientos de resistividad dipolo-dipolo y Schlumberger (cc) efectuados por LBL y CFE respectivamenteo En particular, esperabamos que la tecnica MT nos daria mejor informacion que los otros metodos acerca de la profundidad y configuracion del basamento. Como veremos mas abajo, nuestros resultados excedieron considerablemente esta modesta aspiracion. |
