| Abstract |
Thermal waters in the Mura basin are very important in economy of the region. They are used in spas and recreation centres, mainly for balneological purpose. Possibilities for district heating are enormous, but unfortunately, insufficiently used. The main reason is in relatively high initial investment costs, and very commonly in overdimensioned projects, which are based on initial well capacities. With careful planning of geothermal projects and supervised use, geothermal aquifers in sedimentary basins remain available, sustainable and environment friendly resources with enormous energy potential and economically justified production. |
