Abstract Remote monitoring and control system of geothermal well in Beijing were developed in 2001. The system is composed of parameter collection, data transmission, database management and analysis. The basic parameters of geothermal wells being collected include temperature, water level and flow rate. The data transmission is through the civic telephone networks. The data collected by the system is put in a ACCESS data base., The system software was written based on MCGS project control software. The temperature, water level and flow rate of the well will be measured by means of sensor devices which are located on the well head. All electric current and voltage signals will be collected to collection controller by cables. The collection controller will change these signals into digital signals and save them in memory. It will be also showed at real-time at geothermal well site. When the remote monitoring and control center collect data of each geothermal well, the system will dial telephone number and the controller on the well site will reply automatically and put through, thus realizing the data transmission between the controller and the well site.
