Abstract After analyzing of the regional geological structure, stratigraphic sequences, geothermal setting, water level of geothermal wells and amount of production, it is fond out that it is propootiond to the lowering of water level. The water leve1 of the Xiaotangshan geothermal field has been continuously falling at an average rate of 1.78m/a. This indicates that the recharge was less than the production. The geothermal field is divided into a few sub-areas according to productivity. And a proper production and density of production wells are calculated for each sub-area. It is suggested that the annual lowering of water level be controlled within 1.5m/a, the density of production wells be 0.4-0.5km2, 0.6-0.7km2 and 1.0km2 for different sub-areas. Our management is that controlling the space of geothermal wells, reinjection, strengthening dynamic observation to the geothermal field and unified management to network of geothermal water..
