| Abstract | Two boundary faults of Beijing Graben, striking in northeast to southwest, correspond to two shallow geothermal anomalies. The geothermal reservoir around the geothermal anomaly northwest of the graben buried deeper than that around the other geothermal anomaly. Therefore geothermal development around the former geothermal anomaly is more risky, and people have worried the possibility to drill geothermal well successfully in the area for a long time. The geothermal well completed on the campus of Peking University reveals that it is technically and economically feasible to develop geothermal in the area. The well, with a depth of 3168m, stroke the geothermal reservoir made of dolimite of Wumishan Group, the most important geothermal reservoir in the area of Beijing. Well test shows that the production capacity of the well is more than 2200m3/d, and the water temperature at the well head is 59?. It should be pointed out is that the well goes through limestone layers of great thickness, which made the drilling of the well rather difficult. The completion of the well set up a good example for the geothermal development in the area around the shallow geothermal anomaly in the north part of the city. |
