Abstract Fujian is a province with abundant geothermal, and its geothermal development is also rather typical in China. The amount of geothermal water produced in the province was 18.16Mm3/a in 2000, accounting for the heat from 104 thousand ton of coal. The first geothermal water plant in China was set up in Fuzhou, the capital city of the province. A 21.8km geothermal water pipeline project, the longest of its kind in China, was completed in Anxi County, southeastern part of the province. In this paper, the geothermal use in hot water supply, fish farming, agriculture, health spa, industry and recreation is introduced. And the plan of geothermal development of the province in the next 15years was put forward, including geothermal exploration, and assessment, geothermal utilization, research projects and demonstration projects, as well as related policy and regulations.
