| Abstract | Normal uses of low enthalpy geothermal energy are related with heating purposes as are (Fig.1): - Space heating and domestic hot water. - Agricultural applications of heat; - Aquaculture. - Industrial applications of heat, like hot water, drying etc. - Desalination of sea or brackish water. - Combination of some or all listed consumers (district heating systems). - Some other non characteristic uses (snow melting, etc.). However, there is not only one technology for extracting the heat from the geothermal resource and its supply to concrete user.
