| Abstract | BDGEO v4.0 is a user-friendly, integrated Windows 95/98/NT software package, set up as a distributed, client-server application over a local area network. Its main goal is to standardize and simplify the assessment and management of geothermal fields at departmental level. Extensive use of BDGEO by the technical staff of IIE's Geothermal Unit demonstrated its main virtues: it saves untold man-hours by automatically routing data between different applications (databases, computing algorithms, visualization tools); it keeps the Institution's geothermal databases in one place and homogeneously updated; and it dramatically improves the Institution's perception of its data resources. |
