| Abstract | We have carried out the experiments on coagulationand precipitation of silica from the separate ofVerkhne-Mutnovsky geothermal electric power plant(Mutnovskoe hydrothermal field). Silica precipitationfrom the water solution was conducted in two ways:by adding slaked lime CaO and by electrocoagulationtreatment on aluminium electrodes. Silicaprecipitation with addition of slaked lime was carriedout under laboratory conditions at the temperature of20 and 96 ?C. —olloid and monomeric silicaconcentrations, solution pH, flakes sizes andphysical-chemical properties of material precipitatedwith different quantities of added lime weredetermined. We also carried out series of experimentson solution treatment of mixed type: addition limewith freshly precipitated flakes, and addition limewith sea water. In the experiments on electriccoagulation, current intensity and distance betweenelectrodes were changed. Dependence of silicaconcentration on treatment duration was studied.Quantities of electric energy and anode aluminiumconsumed for reducing of silica concentration to acertain level were obtained. The results of ourexperiments can be used for developing oftechnological scheme of silica precipitation andutilization optimal for Verkhne-Mutnovskygeothermal electric power plant. |
