| Abstract | Two kinds of mud water [concentrations of 5% bentonite (CASE1) and 5% bentonite with additives (CASE2)] were flowed through a cylindrical porous column to evaluate permeability damage due to deposition of mud. Flow rate of CASE1 decreased linearly with time, while that of CASE2 quickly dropped at early periods followed by a slight decrease. Permeability distribution of the column for CASE1 showed significant decrease near the top of the column whereas slight decrease in the downflow part. As for CASE2, permeability decreased quickly in early times and homogeneously along the column with time. |
