| Abstract |
VCalc is a Microsoft Excel-based geothermal piping simulation program done specifically for the Tiwi Geothermal Field. It conducts simulation of two-phase fluid flow from the wellhead to the separators: single phase steam from the separators to the power plants and single phase brine flow from the separators to the injection wells. The program is used as an Operations and Process Engineering simulation tool for studying system operability and conducting optimization studies. VCalc 2.0 is capable of determining steam line low-flow conditions, injection system low pressure conditions and conducts mass chloride with mixing of different production wells. Compared with recent field-wide pressure/flowrate snapshot tests, VCalc 2.0 simulation results have an accuracy of 98%. |
