| Abstract | Simultaneous mass flow measurements using tracer flow tests (TFT) and existing metering devices (or snapshots) were done at both Tiwi and Mak -Ban geothermal fields primarily to validate field-wide mass balance calculations. Comparison of the different methods had led to a better understanding of each method's limitations and sources of error. The snapshot method is also useful for determining and correcting system losses and is thus a very good tool for optimizing systems operations. The snapshots have been conducted twice for both fields and the learnings will be applied so that it can be done on a routine basis to monitor and improve system performance. |
