A magnetotelluric m) survey consisting of 39 soundings, was conducted at SLGPfi.oin January to April 1997 using a Phoenix V-5 MT system. The MT data were processed using the 1 -D Iayered model and Occam inversion progams. The general characteristic of the models shows high surface resistivity, then low resistivity at 100 to 2000 m depth and then increasing resistivity with depth. Two low resistivity zones (<lo Dm) were observed in the area: one on the west, and a broader one northeast ofMt. Cabalian, persisting down to depths of about 2000 m. Conversely, a resistive zone (>30 a m ) is delineated beneath Mts. Cabalian and Cantodoc. This resistive body coincides with the gravitv high which was modeled as a shallow intrusive. |
