Geothermal wastewater has been reinjected a shallow well in the Tongonan field for eighteen months. The fluid piped directly the wellhead separator to the reinjection well at about and with a silica concentration in excess of Results from the first year of reinjection trial a significant increase in the well injectivity and, despite the high silica concentration, indication that silica deposition is having any effect on the capacity of the well. The characteristics of the injection well and surrounding reservoir have been obtained injection tests and pressure transient data using semi-log and log-log techniques. Tracer tests have failed to detect the return to the surface of any reinjected fluid, and other wells and springs in area are apparently unaffected. trial is continuing and planned additional testa will investigate the effects of injecting cooler f luid with far higher degree of silica supersaturation. |
