To further increase steam supply in Bacman 1, the idea of hooking-up old wells instead of drilling new ones is being considered. One of the wells being eyed for this purpose is PAL-2D. PAL-2D was drilled in 1982 and had an output of 6.0 MWe. It was shut when the well fluid turned acidic. It is believed that reservoir processes, particularly fluid movement from PAL-6D area could have neutralized the fluid in PAL-2D. Thus, to confirm whether acidic fluids still exist and to evaluate its present production potential, well PAL-2D was redischarged on June 2004. |
