| Abstract |
An application program incorporating Geographic lnformation Sysfem (G/S) technology to database management sysfem s (DBMSI was developed for the Leyte Geothermal Production Field (LGPF) wells database.T he program links spatiald ata with tabular well information, allowing the user to perform quenes to the database through map navigation and features selection. This is aside from the conventional textentry method. The query tool allows the user to access information contained in existing database tables, which include basic well data, stratigraphy, permeable zones, and intersected fault structu, res. For visualization, a three-dimensional model of the geothermal field, including the wells and the surface of Bao Volcanic Formation (BVF) stratigraphic layer was a/so created and incorporated into the program. Two 3D-model viewers were useo; one featured a regional coverage of the whole Leyte lsland, while the other included only the geothermal field, itself. 3D modeling of the wells was done using the deviation suruey data and linear referencing tn G/S. The program was developed in Visual Easic environment using the MapObiects component from ESR/ at the lnternational lnstitute for Geo-lnformation Scrence and Earth Observation (ITC) in the Netherlands. |
