| Abstract | Egypt is attempting to diversify its energy supplies by obtaining new energy resources at competitive prices in order to maintain long-term growth. Egypt's need for clean and renewable alternative energy is expanding as a result of limited water and fossil fuel sources, as well as growing environmental concerns. Untapped geothermal resources, together with other renewable energy sources, might help to fulfill domestic energy needs. In this study, we examine Egypt's existing geothermal potentials and resources, as well as current geothermal energy applications and prospective advancements. Additionally, geophysical data in the form of aeromagnetic data and temperature logs in oil/gas wells were used to update geothermal gradients and heat flow maps of Egypt. Generally, Egypt has significant geothermal potential along the Red Sea, Gulf of Suez, and Gulf of Aqaba coastlines that might be utilized to generate electricity. On the other hand, the hot springs and thermal wells of the Western desert may be utilized directly. |
