Abstract Shallow geothermal energy coupled with solar energy can be used for building heating (cooling), which can realize the optimization of environmental and economic benefits. Taking the actual project of Yihebao Village in Zhangjiakou Competition Area of Beijing Winter Olympics as an example, this paper introduces the application and practical benefits of the technical scheme for heating (cooling) rural household buildings based on shallow geothermal energy and coupled with solar energy. The project has been running stably for 6 years and has achieved zero carbon emissions of regional heating. It has successfully solved the problems in rural households such as low power distribution network capacity, difficult room control, large differences in individual needs for heat (cold) comfort and high heating costs in rural areas. Household cleaning heating (cooling) is a common problem. A new generation of shallow geothermal energy + solar power generation coupling is proposed for household heating (cooling) scheme, using low-voltage DC power supply coupled energy storage system to achieve zero-carbon heating of buildings.
