| Abstract | Temperature transient analysis (TTA) examines the transient temperature logs of a well during completion testing. Most of the studies encompass only oil and gas reservoirs. The capabilities of geothermal temperature transient analysis have not been thoroughly studied. This paper examines the geothermal well CHI-8A, El Salvador, during pressure falloff. Two approaches were considered; analysis ofpressure response (PTA); examination of temperature and pressure responses (TTA-PTA). By matching temperature and pressure, our study shows that geothermal TTA improves the resolution of geothermal PTA. Geothermal TTA complements geothermal PTA and provides further insight. |
