Abstract Lumut Balai Geothermal Power Plant is located in South Sumatra province, Indonesia. This hydrothermal system has the power source that is coming from the liquid dominated reservoir laid on about 3000 meter below surface. The power output of 1 x 55 MW is expected to supply electricity to Sumatra Island grid system in 2019. The operation phase of this facility will make it as a first geothermal power plant that is put in commercial operation in South Sumatra province. This technical paper will compare the final design for construction of the geothermal power plant against author’s previous publication in World Geothermal Congress 2015 and also highlight the technical features that distinguish it of its kind. The adjustment on design were made regarding several considerations including steam availability and future unit extension development. The final design therefore was used as a basis for international bidding that resulted a main contractor for constructing the facility as well as engineering, procurement and commissioning.
