| Abstract | Herein, we develop an empirical method to estimate the partial mass fractions of both components inside H_2 O-CO_2 mixtures at moderate and relatively high temperatures and pressures. This method is based on the thermodynamic theory of vapor-liquid equilibrium and also on the mathematical and statistical processing of the experimental data available. Besides, the algorithm allows the estimation of the specific enthalpy of such mixtures in the two-phase region. Limits of the method are just established by the ranges of temperature and pressure comprised on the experimental works. In addition, a numerical example is included in order to describe the whole process involved. The main application of this methodology is directed to the geothermal industry, in the areas of reservoir and production engineering. |
