Abstract Recent pressure buildup analyses of Redondo Creek Field wells have been facilitated by identification of wellbore storage. The well-bore storage coefficient observed immediately after shut-in is controlled by the compressibility of the two-phase wellbore fluid, but the coefficient decreases when the wellbore storage is controlled by a rising liquid level. Identification of such phenomena aids in defining the correct radial flow regime of the pressure buildup response.
