As a significant geothermal resource, hot dry rock (HDR) can be divided into four types in China according to its occurrence, namely, high radioactive heat production (HRH), modern volcano (MV), sedimentary basin (SB), and inner-plate active tectonic belt (IATB) types. Among them, the HRH type is mainly distributed along the southeastern coast of China’s mainland. Combining a tectonic framework, regional geothermal flow, crust thickness, Curie interface depth, and new tectonics, this paper analyzes the occurrence background of HDR along China’s southeastern coast and the existence of HDR in Fujian province. Heat control analysis was adopted to analyze the forming modal and establish the preliminary ternary heat reservoir model of HDR resources in this area. This paper also summarizes the exploration progress of HDR resources in Zhangzhou, Huizhou, and northern Hainan Island, laying a solid foundation for further relevant research. |
