| Abstract | Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), subsidiary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provides training programs in the field of geothermal energy. The programs aim to support and help geothermal energy development in developing countries through human capacity development. The short term training programs consist of three courses: one week course for executives, 6 week course for drilling managers, and six month course for geothermal resource engineers. In the last three years from 2016 to 2018, a total of 82 participants completed the courses: 25 participants from 9 countries in the executive course, 18 from 8 countries in the drilling manager course and 39 from 10 countries in the geothermal resource engineers. These courses are carried out with cooperation of 36 organizations including universities, private companies and national institutions. Other than these short term programs, master and doctoral programs are also prepared in collaboration with universities in Japan. |
