| Abstract | In this paper a complete descrption of a submarine power plant is presented, based in previous work published by the author, where all the elements of the power plant are encapsulated in several small pipes that can easily brought to surface for maintenance using a compressed air system (like in the submarines). The collection of the heat from the hydrothermal vents is accomplished without touching or alternating the ecosystem of the vent. It is done by hinging a series of tubes in the sea soil where the heat is extracted by means of a concentric tube that circulates pure demineralized water. The design and construction of such a device is under way in order to have the first submarine geothermal power plant. Several innovating features of the design are presented. |
