Abstract Northwest piedmont regional geologic structure is complex and water circle alternate is intensive in Miaocheng town, Huairou District. The dolomite of Wumishan formation, Jixian system is geothermal reservoir in this area. Based on geological, hydrogeological, geophysical data, the methods of gravity, microseism and CSAMT are implemented in geothermal exploration. According to the identification of geology structure, strata combinative characteristics and related geothermal conditions, optimum site of geothermal exploration is determined. Geophysical interpretation is proved to be accurate by drilling JH-1 geothermal well. The reservoir is carbonate rocks of Wumishan formation and bottom of Cambrian formation. The results of JH-1 well with the yield is 616.12m³/d and temperature is 45℃.
