The superficial manifestations found here are: hot springs, fumaroles, steam soils and mud, located in the northwest, center and south of the national territory. Particularly characteristics blossom here as oppose to the rest of the rest of Central America; this is due to the geothermal sources which are directly related to tectonic systems and associated to geological faults, in other words, the continental plates interact. And for the south zone, it exists a possibility of a subduction influence of Cocos and Caribbean plates. The superficial manifestations located in the northwest zone, north and center, respond to the interaction of the North American and Caribbean plates and their related geological faults. The objective of these document is to present, by a field investigation, the geochemistry of the manifestations of heat sources associated to tectonic systems compared with the volcanic ones. Taking as an example known systems in the Central American region, making use of ionic and cationic analysis in the liquid and gas phase during tests in the laboratory.
