| Abstract | A liquid- liquid direct contact spray tower heat exchanger was designed, built and tested. uni t was constructed a s an tower from of bore glass tube. Sharp temperature discontinuities occur at the ends of the column which result in a drop in the temperature driving force within the column. It shown that these effects are functions of the holdup and the volumetric flow ratio and are caused by a combination of hydrodynamic effects. |
