Abstract Hot-spring waters from six geothermal areas in Honduras (fig. have been investigated as part of an assessment of geothermal resources conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey, Alamos National Laboratory, and the Empressa de of Honduras et al., 1987). These waters are unusual in having relatively low (30-120 and high total and B (1-17 and show large related to the apparent reservoir rocks. Geothermometer-indicated reservoir temperatures of the thrpe most prospective areas, Platanares, San Ignacio, and Azacualpa, exceed Repeated collections and analyses in 1985 and 1986 of boiling hot-spring waters from Platanares and Azacualpa showed essentially no differences, but large composition differences at San Ignacio suggested a change in the hot-spring upflow processes .
