| Abstract | Subsurface fluid flow modelling is highly dependent on the spatial distribution of geological units and rock properties. As can be expected this distribution is a priori unknown and only through direct sampling from well drilling or indirect geophysical methods this distribution can be constrained. However, the interpreted geological distribution needs to be treated as only one interpretation from a set of alternative scenarios. In this paper we address the problem of geological uncertainty through the use of stochastic modelling and the use of multiple point statistics methods. An example from a real geothermal field is presented with a discussion and some conclusions. |
