| Abstract | 222Rn, a noble gas with a half-life of 3.8 days produced in the decay-chain of 238U, has the potential to provide constraints on the aperture and surface area of fractures prior to and after EGS stimulation. In order to test and better understand the use of 222Rn in geothermal settings, we have conducted tests at the Altona, NY model geothermal reservoir. The experimental site is situated on an expanse of exposed quartz-cemented Cambrian sandstone with |
