| Abstract | Recent MT data suggest that the deep heat source which feeds the Ohaaki geothermal system in the Taupo Volcanic Zone (TVZ) in New Zealand is offset laterally by several kilometers from the shallow low resistivity area that marks Ohaaki geothermal field. We use numerical modelling to demonstrate that lateral flows of several kilometres are possible with permeabilities which are typical of structural units found in TVZ geothermal fields. |
