| Abstract | The role of α-recoil for the release of Radium isotopes (228Ra, 226Ra) into highly saline deepwaters was investigated by Monte-Carlo simulations focussing on the solid-fluid interface. A close relation between Th/U in the rock and 228Ra/226Ra in the fluid is predicted. Applications on real systems illustrate the importance of the investigated mechanism. |
