| Abstract | District heating systems are designed to meet cold waves without loosing consumer satisfaction. Presently the differential energy equation is integrated for a part of the of the Akureyri District Heating system Akureyri, northern Iceland during the worst cold spell found in the weather data for the years 1970 through 1987. This sample simulation performed to study effects of weather on system performance during a selected cold spell. The results show that the simulation methods can give more accurate calculations and realistic information on system performance during cold spells than previous methods indicates. |
