Abstract Research Center for Geotechnology – Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) try to conduct research on geothermal energy. This research will issue a regional concept of the geothermal area of West Java. The first stage of this research is the Garut and surrounding area, which is a small system of the " Circular Feature" of the gravity anomaly data, which has been proven there are several locations that have potential for geothermal. The study began with the regional geology, geological structure and rock alteration field research. To view the cross section of the subsurface measurements of MT line that starts from the Leles - Garut - Semarang to the Papandayan volcano. The distance between the point of measurement is between 3 to 4 miles. The results of two- dimensional cross section of the resistivity of Leles to Papandayan volcano line can be seen that on the rim of the low circular feature gravity of this area as geothermal prospect area.
