| Abstract | The specific exergy index (engineering) approach is introduced to map and classify geothermal resources of the Slovak Republic, both for geothermal water bodies and individual wells. At depths over 500 – 1000 m, the effect of geothermal field destruction by cooling ceases progressively. The Central Danube Depression (SExI = 0,07), Horná Nitra Basin (SExI = 0,07) and the Košice Depression (SExI = 0,102) appear most adequate for high heat delivery demand projects, yet there is still some challenge to improve thermodynamic efficiency on existing district heating systems. Because of complexity of GWBs, we recommend individual sites studies instead. |
