| Abstract | A pilot hybrid geothermal-solar thermal energy system was installed in the Gümüşköy Geothermal Energy Power Plant in Ayd?n, Turkey, in order to explore the performance enhancement of the solar system to total electricity output of the plant and validate a model that is developed to predict the performance of the hybrid system. Tests were conducted on a 200 kWth Parabolic Trough Collector system and results are presented. A post feasibility study for adding a 1 MWe solar field to the existing 5.5 MWe basic binary geothermal system with Organic Rankine Cycle is carried out by considering the test results and performing an economic analysis. |
