| Abstract | Change in weather pattern, demand for large volume of drinking water and ever growing demand for electricity is compelling countries like Saudi Arabia to explore high heat generating granite for along the western coast of the Arabian shield for power generation. These post tectonic granites are anomalously enriched in radioactive elements and are capable of generating 6 to 134 ?W/m3 of heat and are excellent Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) sites to be explored further and exploited for meting future electricity demand of Saudi Arabia. |
