| Abstract | This paper presents modeling concepts and illustrative simulations for the migration of phase-partitioning tracers in boiling two-phase reservoirs. The mathematical model implemented in the TOUGH2 simulator is reviewed. Migration of artificial and natural (noble gas) tracers is simulated for production-injection scenarios under vapor-dominated conditions. Simulated trends reflect an interplay of different reservoir processes and conditions, and compare favorably with observations at The Geysers reservoir. |
