Abstract Fujian province is located in southeastern coastal region of China. It closes by the Pacific Rim Geothermal Zone. There are 205 locations of hot springs in the province. The density of hot spring is the third place in China. Since 1970s Fujian province has paid attention to geothermal resources exploration and utilization. Geothermal well got 121.5 „aC within 100 m depth in Zhangzhou. This is the highest temperature in Eastern China. Fuzhou city installed geothermal water supply at the earliest in the country. Fuzhou created geothermal administration earlier also. There is not demand of space heating in Fujian because warm climate. But geothermal cooling was used in Fujian first. Sea eel feeding by hot springs was advance in Fujian. Geothermal geological condition is complicated in Fujian due to rock fractured reservoir. However, higher temperature and water yield were found in many geothermal fields in Fujian in recent years. It was considered also as one of targets for EGS research in China. China is accelerating the step for replacement of renewable energy from conventional fossil fuel energy. Fujian is lack in conventional energy resources. The provincial governor has advised to draw up an industry planning of geothermal resources development in Fujian province. It will show the targets for short-term, metaphase and long-term respectively. It could be expected to have a wonderful prospective in Fujian in future.
