Abstract As renewable resource, geothermal energy is very significant to the development of the economy of the country. Reinjection of the geothermal fluids after utilization is the main effective means for sustainable and environmentally to geothermal resource. In Tianjin area, the re-injection prevenient test and research in Sandstone reservior has been carried out approximately separate into three course from 1980s to 2008, but due to scaling, plugging and corrosion, the reinjection rate decreased dramatically in sandstone reservoir, and the biggest testing reinjection rate is 44.6 m3/h, accompanying the water level increase to the wellhead very quickly. During the research, we focused on research in the drilling technique, filtering technique and re-injection regulation. Up to recent years , we made great progress in reinjection in sandstone reservoir in two different area, three demonstration projects are set up and the reinjection rate of single well acquired great progress, up to 100-120m3/h in single sandstone re-injection well. In this report, we describes reinjection issues from different perspectives including: reservoir configuration, aquifer characteristic, drilling techniques, filtering technique as well as re-pumping at the interval of re-injection etc.. And describe the progress of in the past decades in Tianjin China.
