Abstract The Hululais geothermal field is situated about 80 km north of Bengkulu City, Sumatra. On August 2012, PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) started the infrastructure of the field and the main access road has been constructed to support four drilling pads. Three exploratory wells have been drilled directionally with average depths between 2700-3000 meters measured depth. In the middle August 2012, PGE conducted well production test of HLS–C1 and the well succesfully discharged geothermal fluid. It was reported that the well HLS-C1 discharged a relatively benign fluid. The estimated potensial of the first exploratory well is about 10 – 20 MW. It is a good evidence indicating Hululais geothermal field is ready to develop.
