Abstract Due to the decline in production from H-1D well on the Los Humeros Geothermal Field (HGF) caused by the deposition of calcite and silica inside of the pipes and the annular area between the slotted liner and hole 8,5”, it was subject to mechanical and chemical cleaning between June and July 2010. The results were successful and the increase in production was 766%. However, the well production drop drastically in the evaluation stage to a similar production measured before acid stimulation. To understand the phenomenon occurred in the well, analysis of the chemical and thermodynamic information of the fluid saturation indices, go devils was performed. Additionally the mechanisms of production into the well were analyzed; comparing the data obtained with the simulated data scenarios before the stimulation job using the simulation software Wellsim®. In this paper, the analysis of causes of the decline production in H-1D Well in the Los Humeros Geothermal Field is presented.
