Abstract Kazan geothermal area is a new geothermal area which is located near to Esenboga Airport. In view of economic and tourism potential its location has a very important. The area was discovered with geological, tectonical and geophysical studies by Iller Bank’ geologist, geophisists. First well opened in 400±50 m depth and but expected yield wasnt obtained due to drilling problems. To cope with these problems, 5 new drilling well locations were determined. Encountered difficulties were resolved, depth of wells varries from 256 and 492 m, temperatures 29-55 0C . The yields obtained were between 7 and 60 l/s. Samples taken from these wells were medically analyzed and they were determined as potable and in particular balneological purpose. It is pointed out that they rehabilitate and protect from a lot of diesase. Due to these findings a modern spa resort in the region has been established.
